Research status

Research status: CONFIRMED as Eva Barbara's mother — named in her daughter's Gerabronn burial entry, 1848 no. 9, read from the register image S453. That entry's spelling of her maiden name is hard to read (we read it Schnürmann [?])

Names1766
🆕 Her maiden name is Scheuermann. The Gerabronn marriage register for 1766 (p. 53, no. 6) records her marriage on 8 April 1766 at Michelbach an der Lücke to Johann Georg Hartweck of Oberweiler, and calls her Maria Margaretha Scheuermännin, the daughter of Johann Adam Scheuermann of Gerabronn S814. Added 28 September 2026.
Parents1742
🆕 Daughter of Johann Adam Scheuermann, a Brandenburg subject, smallholder (Köbler) and the common herdsman at Gerabronn, and his wife Margaretha (the clerk wrote Maria, struck it out and wrote Eva above): 🆕 her mother is probably Eva Margaretha Stapf Probable confirm or correct →, whom Johann Adam, a widower, married on 16 January 1742 S835. Because he had been married before, an elder daughter of the same name by his first wife is not ruled out. Her baptism is in the Gerabronn register for 1743 (p. 110, no. 6), just after an entry dated 30 January; the day of the baptism runs onto the next leaf, which has not been read S815. A bride of 23 in 1766 fits. Both entries are in the old German hand. Added 28 September 2026.
Children
Mother of Eva Barbara Hertweck; wife of Johann Georg Hartweck, a herdsman

Compiled for the Proeger family

Living adults appear by name and relationship, with the year only: no full date of birth and no home town on any page that search engines index, and a living person’s own page is kept out of search engines. Minors appear by name only — no date of birth, no birth year, no age, no school, no place, no address, no other identifying detail. A minor may be named and may appear in a family photograph; nothing further about them is published. Where it is not established whether someone is an adult or a minor, the minor rule applies.
