How to read this record
Every claim is tagged
Most family trees flatten everything into the same confident typeface. This one does not.
The three research tags below are the whole point of the exercise: they say what a document
proves, what the weight of evidence suggests, and what nobody has found yet. A fourth marks
what the family stated directly, where no document has been retrieved at all — it is kept
separate on purpose and is never quietly promoted to confirmed. A fifth, added on
13 September 2026, marks biological evidence: a DNA result is not a document, and it is not
testimony either. Two further labels mark where this page withholds information
rather than lacking it.
ConfirmedAttested by a document that was actually retrieved and read — a census sheet, a
government index, a grave marker, a family-written obituary.
ProbableStrongly supported but not nailed down: a user-contributed tree, a masked index field,
or a chain of consistent circumstances. Believable, not proven.
Not foundSearched for and not located. This is a statement about the search, not about the
person — the record may well exist somewhere unsearched.
Family testimonySupplied by the family and recorded on their word — no document has been retrieved for
it. Note the diamond rather than the dot: this is provenance, not proof, and it stands
apart from the three record tags above S24.
DNA evidenceBiological evidence consistent with a claim. It corroborates origins; it does
not by itself establish a person or a link. Note the bar rather than a dot or a diamond:
no DNA result on this page is ever counted as confirmed, because no document
was read for it S46.
Living — withheldThe person is living. By the privacy rule for this page, name and relationship are
shown, and at most a year the family has already published. Full dates of birth, ages,
places of residence and record identifiers are held back.
Research in progressA branch that is actively being worked on. The node exists in the structure so the
shape of the family is honest; the detail is simply not in yet.

Research status
Research status: CONFIRMED as the Triensbach farmer who married in 1704 and fathered Johann Caspar in 1714 and two more sons, read from the register images
S607S599. Added 26 September 2026
Life in the order the records give it
Burial1737
Buried
17 January 1737 at Triensbach as "Johann Pröger, der alte Bauer", aged 63 years 8 months, so born about May 1673
Probable confirm or correct →the burial is not indexed and is matched by his description
S608Family parents, marriages, children, siblings
Parents—
Son of
Hanß Pröger, a farmer at Seibotenberg in Michelbach an der Heide parish; he came to Triensbach, Württemberg, to take up a farm
S607S610Marriage1704
Married
Elisabetha Schuster, the widow of Hans Kochendörffer,
20 May 1704 at Triensbach
S607. She was not born a Kochendörffer, and no kinship with Minnie Kochendoerfer's family is implied. 🆕 Her parents were Hans Schuster of Unter-Schmerach and Anna Maria Gronbach, married at Lendsiedel in 1676
Probable confirm or correct → S805Children1714
his 1734 marriage names his father only, and no baptism is found — and of Georg Michael (married 1746), all described as sons of the Castenamt Crailsheim farmer at Triensbach
S599Children1709
🆕
Children who died young, buried at Triensbach as children of “Hanß Preger, Bauer allhie”
Confirmed: a son buried
30 July 1709, aged 1 year 4 months; a son buried
7 April 1713, aged 3 years 4 months; a son buried
20 October 1716, 12 days old; and “his youngest little daughter
Maria Margaretha”, buried
18 June 1720, 4 days old
S740. Only Maria Margaretha is named. Two more 1709 burials under his name are
not counted as his children: a boy buried 15 August, aged 2 or 7 (the digit is unclear, and 2 would put his birth only seven months from the July boy’s), and a girl aged 6, buried 15 September, born before the 1704 marriage. Both were probably Elisabetha’s children by her first husband, Hans Kochendörffer

- S599Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Triensbach, baptisms 1714, p. 160, no. 6, and Lendsiedel, marriages 1737, p. 649, no. 3: Johann Caspar Pröger. Ancestry records 16642861 (image 1860322-00440) and 14971270 (image 1528571-00374). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Confirmed Baptised 21 March 1714, son of Hans Preger, farmer at Triensbach, and Elisabetha. Married Margaretha Bullingerin von Eichenau at Triensbach on 12 March 1737 after banns at Lendsiedel; her parents are not named.
- S607Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Michelbach an der Heide and Triensbach, marriages 1704: Hans Pröger and Elisabetha, 20 May 1704. Ancestry records 15330609 (image 1528592-00362) and 16643399 (image 1860322-00473). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Confirmed "Hanß Pröger, son of Hanß Pröger, farmer at Seibotenberg, new farmer at Triensbach", married Elisabetha at Triensbach. The Michelbach copy names her through her late first husband, the farmer Hanß Kochendörffer; the Triensbach copy's surname is lost in the binding, and its index reading "Stocklöv" is unexplained.
- S608Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Triensbach, burials 1736–1737, p. 215: Elisabetha Pröger née Schuster and Johann Pröger. Image 1860322-00772 (not indexed). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Probable 17 April 1736: Elisabetha Prögerin, gebohrne Schusterin von Unter-Sch[merach], wife of Joh. Pröger, aged 57 years 4 months. 17 January 1737: Johann Pröger, "der alte Bauer", aged 63 years 8 months 15 days. They are tied to the Triensbach household by description, not by a named child.
- S610Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Michelbach an der Heide, baptisms 1709–1722 and burials 1726: the Pröger households at Seibotenberg. Ancestry record 15335607 (image 1528592-00808) and Michelbach baptisms Bd. 7. Images examined, read 25 September 2026. They confirm Seibotenberg, a hamlet of Michelbach an der Heide, now part of Gerabronn, as a Pröger farm village, the word the 1704 marriage uses for Hans's father.
- S740Triensbach burial registers, 1709–1720: the children of Hans Pröger. Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers, film 1860322, images 00507 (1709), 00508 (1713), 00758 (Bd. 4 p. 187, 1716) and 00761 (p. 192, 1720). Images examined at full resolution, read 26 September 2026. Confirmed “Hat Hanß Preger, Bauer allhie, sein jüngstes Töchterlein Maria Margaretha … ihres Alters 4 Tag” (18 June 1720); sons buried 30 July 1709 (1 year 4 months), 7 April 1713 (3 years 4 months) and 20 October 1716 (12 days, father written “Johann Preger”). Page 192 has no year heading; 1720 follows from the order of entries, with “Anno 1721” lower on the same page. Two 1709 entries (15 August, a boy aged 2 or 7; 15 September, a girl aged 6) carry an unread word before the child and are probably Kochendörffer stepchildren.
- S805Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Lendsiedel, marriages 1676 (image 1528571-00015): Hans Schuster and Anna Maria Gronbach, 29 February 1676. Ancestry record 914964776. Image examined in the Stage 2 reading, 27 September 2026. Probable Read at full resolution: "d. 29. febr. sind copulirt worden Hannß Schüst[er] bey undern Schmerach … u. Anna Maria, Hannß Gronbachs deß jüngern, [Bauers] zu großen Allmerspann, ehelich ledige Tochter": Hans Schuster of Unter-Schmerach married Anna Maria, the single daughter of Hans Gronbach the younger, a farmer at Groß-Allmerspann. The same hamlet as Elisabetha's 1736 burial (“born Schuster of Unter-Schmerach”, S608) and the same parish as her 1678 baptism, which calls her mother simply Maria (S609). A margin insertion probably names the groom's late father as Michel Schuster, a farmer at a place beginning with K; that reading is tentative; the site gives it as Probable, accepted by Earl on 28 September 2026 pending more evidence. A crop of the entry is in documents/schuster. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1500–1985.
