How to read this record
Every claim is tagged
Most family trees flatten everything into the same confident typeface. This one does not.
The three research tags below are the whole point of the exercise: they say what a document
proves, what the weight of evidence suggests, and what nobody has found yet. A fourth marks
what the family stated directly, where no document has been retrieved at all — it is kept
separate on purpose and is never quietly promoted to confirmed. A fifth, added on
13 September 2026, marks biological evidence: a DNA result is not a document, and it is not
testimony either. Two further labels mark where this page withholds information
rather than lacking it.
ConfirmedAttested by a document that was actually retrieved and read — a census sheet, a
government index, a grave marker, a family-written obituary.
ProbableStrongly supported but not nailed down: a user-contributed tree, a masked index field,
or a chain of consistent circumstances. Believable, not proven.
Not foundSearched for and not located. This is a statement about the search, not about the
person — the record may well exist somewhere unsearched.
Family testimonySupplied by the family and recorded on their word — no document has been retrieved for
it. Note the diamond rather than the dot: this is provenance, not proof, and it stands
apart from the three record tags above S24.
DNA evidenceBiological evidence consistent with a claim. It corroborates origins; it does
not by itself establish a person or a link. Note the bar rather than a dot or a diamond:
no DNA result on this page is ever counted as confirmed, because no document
was read for it S46.
Living — withheldThe person is living. By the privacy rule for this page, name and relationship are
shown, and at most a year the family has already published. Full dates of birth, ages,
places of residence and record identifiers are held back.
Research in progressA branch that is actively being worked on. The node exists in the structure so the
shape of the family is honest; the detail is simply not in yet.

Research status
Research status: PROBABLE (strong) — her baptism, first marriage and burial read from the register images, tied together by her burial's "born Schuster of Unter-Schmerach" and its age
S609S608. Added 26 September 2026
Evidence: Her 1678 Lendsiedel baptism, her 1701 first marriage and her 1736 Triensbach burial (“born Schuster of Unter-Schmerach”), all read from the register. Weak or missing: The burial age matches the baptism only to within three weeks, and the 1704 Triensbach marriage copy has lost her surname in the binding. Not yet confirmed. Know more? Life in the order the records give it
Birth1678
Baptised
18 November 1678 at Lendsiedel, Württemberg, daughter of
Hans Schuster of Nieder-Schmerach and Maria
S609. 🆕 Her mother's full name was
Anna Maria Gronbach, by her parents' 1676 marriage
Probable confirm or correct → S805Burial1736
Buried
17 April 1736 at Triensbach, aged 57, as "Elisabetha Prögerin, gebohrne Schusterin"
S608. ⚠️ Some trees call her Elisabetha Kochendörffer: that was her first married name, not her birth name
Family parents, marriages, children, siblings
Marriage1701
Married first,
31 May 1701 at Triensbach,
Hans Kochendörffer, son of the late Andreas; he was buried 10 February 1704, aged 32
S609Parents1676
🆕 Her parents,
Hans Schuster of Unter-Schmerach and
Anna Maria Gronbach, daughter of
Hans Gronbach the younger, a farmer at Groß-Allmerspann, married at Lendsiedel on
29 February 1676 Probable confirm or correct → S805. Her father, as “Johannes Schuster, widower of Unter-Schmerach”, married second
Anna Barbara Schuhmann, daughter of Jörg Schuhmann, at Ilshofen on
22 August 1699 Probable confirm or correct → S806, so her mother
Anna Maria died before August 1699.
Evidence: the same name, hamlet (Unter-Schmerach) and parish (Lendsiedel) as her baptism and her 1736 burial.
What is weak: each is a single register entry; one cannot rule out a second Hans Schuster in the hamlet, and Anna Maria's burial has not been found. A margin note probably names Hans's late father as Michel Schuster (see below). added 27 September 2026
Parents1676
🆕 Her grandfather: her father Hans Schuster was probably the son of
Michel Schuster (Schüster), who was dead by February 1676 (
his card)
Probable confirm or correct → S805.
Evidence: a margin insertion beside Hans's 1676 marriage entry reads roughly “u. Michel Schüsters deß gewesenen …bauern zu Kl…”, making the groom the son of a late Michel Schüster.
What is weak: the words after “gewesenen” and the place name are not legible, and no baptism of Hans has been found. Online trees that give Michel a birth in 1600 and a death in 1675 merge more than one man and are not followed here. added 28 September 2026
Parents1649
🆕 Her grandmother: her mother Anna Maria Gronbach was probably the daughter of
Eva Kreber (or Kerber) (
her card)
Probable confirm or correct →.
Evidence: Hans Gronbach, son of Hans Gronbach of Groß-Allmerspann, married Eva, the surviving daughter of the late Jörg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspann, on
27 November 1649 S836, and in December 1652 an Anna Maria was baptised at Langenburg to Johannes Gronbach of Groß-Allmerspann and Eva
S837.
What is weak: the 1676 marriage names only Anna Maria's father
S805, so the link rests on the 1652 child being the 1676 bride (same father, hamlet and given name). The registers call her only Eva; the “Elisabetha” and the dates 1631–1712 in some trees are not supported. added 28 September 2026

Ancestry records 16642861 (image 1860322-00440) and 14971270 (image 1528571-00374). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Confirmed Baptised 21 March 1714, son of Hans Preger, farmer at Triensbach, and Elisabetha. Married Margaretha Bullingerin von Eichenau at Triensbach on 12 March 1737 after banns at Lendsiedel; her parents are not named.
- S607Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Michelbach an der Heide and Triensbach, marriages 1704: Hans Pröger and Elisabetha, 20 May 1704. Ancestry records 15330609 (image 1528592-00362) and 16643399 (image 1860322-00473). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Confirmed "Hanß Pröger, son of Hanß Pröger, farmer at Seibotenberg, new farmer at Triensbach", married Elisabetha at Triensbach. The Michelbach copy names her through her late first husband, the farmer Hanß Kochendörffer; the Triensbach copy's surname is lost in the binding, and its index reading "Stocklöv" is unexplained.
- S608Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Triensbach, burials 1736–1737, p. 215: Elisabetha Pröger née Schuster and Johann Pröger. Image 1860322-00772 (not indexed). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Probable 17 April 1736: Elisabetha Prögerin, gebohrne Schusterin von Unter-Sch[merach], wife of Joh. Pröger, aged 57 years 4 months. 17 January 1737: Johann Pröger, "der alte Bauer", aged 63 years 8 months 15 days. They are tied to the Triensbach household by description, not by a named child.
- S609Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Lendsiedel, baptisms 1678, p. 35, no. 10, and marriages 1701, p. 145, no. 10: Elisabetha Schuster. Ancestry records 14965258 (image 1528571-00055) and 14967111 (image 1528571-00111). Images examined, read 25 September 2026. Probable Baptised 18 November 1678, daughter of Hans Schuster of Nieder-Schmerach and Maria. 🆕 Maria is Anna Maria Gronbach, by her parents' 1676 marriage (S805). Married 31 May 1701 at Triensbach Hanß Kochendörffer, son of the late Andreas Kochendörffer. The only Elisabetha Schuster born 1676–80 in the index; her burial age falls two to three weeks from this baptism.
- S805Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Lendsiedel, marriages 1676 (image 1528571-00015): Hans Schuster and Anna Maria Gronbach, 29 February 1676. Ancestry record 914964776. Image examined in the Stage 2 reading, 27 September 2026. Probable Read at full resolution: "d. 29. febr. sind copulirt worden Hannß Schüst[er] bey undern Schmerach … u. Anna Maria, Hannß Gronbachs deß jüngern, [Bauers] zu großen Allmerspann, ehelich ledige Tochter": Hans Schuster of Unter-Schmerach married Anna Maria, the single daughter of Hans Gronbach the younger, a farmer at Groß-Allmerspann. The same hamlet as Elisabetha's 1736 burial (“born Schuster of Unter-Schmerach”, S608) and the same parish as her 1678 baptism, which calls her mother simply Maria (S609). A margin insertion probably names the groom's late father as Michel Schuster, a farmer at a place beginning with K; that reading is tentative; the site gives it as Probable, accepted by Earl on 28 September 2026 pending more evidence. A crop of the entry is in documents/schuster. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1500–1985.
- S806Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers — Ilshofen, marriages 1699, 3rd entry: Johannes Schuster, widower, and Anna Barbara Schuhmann, 22 August 1699. Ancestry record 11969031. Image examined in the Stage 2 reading, 27 September 2026. Probable "Johannes Schüst[er], Wittwer zu Underschmerach, und Anna Barbara, Jörg Schuhmanns zu R[…] ehel. Tochter", married 22 August 1699 at Ilshofen after banns read three times at Lendsiedel and Kirchberg. A widower of Unter-Schmerach, banned in Lendsiedel parish: the same name, hamlet and parish as the 1676 groom (S805), so his first wife Anna Maria Gronbach had died before August 1699. One entry cannot rule out a second Johannes Schuster in the hamlet, and the bride's village is illegible. The index's “Schust” is the Schüst[er] abbreviation. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1500–1985.
- S836Langenburg marriage register, p. 536 — Hans Gronbach and Eva Kreber (Kerber), 27 November 1649. Ancestry record 914633326 (image 1528570-00508). Image examined, read 28 September 2026. Probable “Hanß Gronbach, Hansen Gronbachs [wirts?] zu großen Allmerspach fil. legit. und Eva, Jörg Krebers [or Kerbers] zu großen Allmerspach filia relicta”: Hans Gronbach, son of Hans Gronbach of Groß-Allmerspann, married Eva, the surviving daughter of the late Jörg Kreber of Groß-Allmerspann. Read at full resolution. The surname can be read Kreber or Kerber. The register calls her only Eva. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers.
- S837Langenburg baptism register, p. 348, line 13 — Anna Maria, daughter of Johannes Gronbach and Eva, December 1652. Image 1528570-00417. Image examined, read 28 September 2026. Probable “Johannes Gronbach zu Großallmerspach | Eva | Anna Maria”. The same father, hamlet and given name as the Anna Maria, daughter of Hans Gronbach the younger of Groß-Allmerspann, who married Hans Schuster in 1676 (S805), who would then have been 23. No document names Eva as the 1676 bride's mother. Collection: Württemberg, Germany, Lutheran Parish Registers.
