1863 departure under the blue-and-white monarchy flag; the green-and-red republic flag is 1911+.
A sixth generation — named in Texas, unnamed in the Azores
New on 14 September 2026, and the deepest point on Earl's side that a federal
record reaches: the
1900 census entry for Frank Silva Sr records that his own father and mother were
both born in "Azores Port" S47. That is a sixth
generation back from Earl, on a federal record — and it gives no names. Two real people,
documented and anonymous. They are drawn as real slots in the vertical chain
below, with the names left empty — and again in the
deep lines. A generation attested by a census column and carrying no names is still a
generation, and it is shown that way rather than dropped. The same is true of Antone Rose's parents, both recorded as born in
Portugal on the same 1900 enumeration S55.
Two further couples are attached by FindAGrave parent links — individually
well-documented memorials, but not independently corroborated against primary records,
so those four are tagged Probable confirm or correct →:
James Daniel Bowles (1831–1889) ⚭ Lydia Williams (1835–1876), parents of
William Anderson Bowles S22 ·
Solomon Alfred Brock (1838–1904) ⚭ Matilda P. Brock (1848–1912), parents of
Iona Belle Brock S23 — their
marriage now on the Harlan County, Kentucky register, 6 March 1865
S151, and his death bounded to on
or before 23 May 1904 by the pension index
S152.
Dr. James W. Wright (1825–1882) ⚭ Lucy C. Brooks (1839–1921), parents of
Mary Jane Wright, moved to
Confirmed on 16 September 2026: her
1934 Texas death certificate names them both
S81, and History of Dallas County (1892) names
her among his children S85. That book also supplies a
further generation — Thomas ⚭ Martha A. (Tate) Wright and Moses T. ⚭ Nancy (Tate)
Brooks — named only in print, and held at
Probable.
On the Proeger side the sixth generation is half found. Julius Karl
Proeger's parents are both named on records — his father Georg Melchior Julius
Prüger on the Kirchberg baptism register
S69, his mother on the same register as Elisabeth Catharina, née
Lösch. Her given name is the one thing on this couple that three documents
cannot agree on: the 1844 register, written at the time and read at full resolution,
says Elisabeth Catharina; the FamilySearch index of their 1835 marriage says
Elisabethe Sabina; and Julius's 1924 Pennsylvania death certificate S68,
reported by a granddaughter-in-law eighty years after the fact, says Lossetta.
The surname Lösch is the same on all three. This page takes the register as
primary and keeps the other two as variants.
They now have dates, from FamilySearch index entries rather than from images:
he born 25 July 1804 at Erkenbrechtshausen and died 4 February 1870, she
born 1803 at Crailsheim; married 1835 at Triensbach, Oberamt Crailsheim
S122S123 —
Probable, because no parish image has
been read for any of it.
Minnie Margaret Kochendoerfer's parents are named for the first time on the
FamilySearch shared tree — Georg Leonhard Kochendörfer (1811 – 1 October 1859,
died at Langenburg) and Eva Margaretha Renk (b. 1809), married 29 November 1837
at Gerabronn S124 — and she herself was christened at Langenburg on
21 November 1847, eight kilometres from the parish where her husband was baptised.
Confirmed since 25 September 2026: her baptism
S184 and her parents' 1837 marriage S444 have been read on the registers themselves.
The Timberman and Martin couples in the fifth generation are new as of
13 September 2026 and are the newest, thinnest part of this chart. They come from the
FamilySearch tree rather than from retrieved records, so they stand at
Probable and no generation is shown above
them S30. Working those two lines back was explicitly
out of scope for the run that found them, and at first Nannie Chenault was corroborated only sideways, by
a Chenault boarder in the 1930 household S27.
That has since changed on the Martin side: Joseph Daniel Martin (1832–1899) is named in
his father's own 1849 will S172, and
Nannie Chenault (26 January 1844 – 14 April 1915) is Confirmed
on her own death certificate S208.
